KISSIMMEE -- The Osceola County Commission is considering a new ordinance that would ban alligator hunters from using airboats between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. on Lake Tohopekaliga and East Lake Tohopekaliga.
Supporters said they want the chance to help reduce noise for people that live along the water.
Critics worry if hunters can't hunt, the number of nuisance gators may grow.
"It kind of leaves a bad taste in our mouth. It's detrimental to about five different airboat companies along the lake," said Brad Williams from Wild Willy’s Airboat Tours.
Osceola County already applies the 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. rule during the rest of the year.
A vote is expected on Monday.
