LAKELAND -- The 911 tape of a cheerleader who was beaten by eight other teenagers in Lakeland has been made public, providing a glimpse into the victim's frightened state of mind.

The victim in the case called 911 after she was attacked and then fled to a friend's house.

News 13 has not identified the victim in this case.

Victim: "I just got jumped."
Operator: "You just got, what? Jumped?"
Victim: "Yes ma'am."
Operator: "Do you know who did it?"
Victim: "Yes I do."

The victim later identified her assailants as April Cooper, Brittini Hardcastle, Cara Murphy, Britney Mayes, Kayla Hassell, Mercades Nichols, Zachary Ashley and Stephen Schumaker. Those teens have been charged as adults.

The teen victim only spoke to the operator for a moment before becoming overwhelmed with emotion. That is when her friend's mother got on the phone line.

Woman: "Hi, I'm the mom. I'm not her mom, but the friend's mom."
Operator: "Is she hurt? Does she need anything?"
Woman: "Yes, I think she needs ... she's got a big knot on the side of her eye."

The friend's mother recounted the details of the attack to the operator:

Woman: "She lived there and they told her --  She was gone, and they told her to hurry up and come home, and when she walked in the house, each one came out of a different room and attacked her."
Operator: "She's safe at your house?"
Woman: "She's safe here with us, yes."

The 911 tape from the March 30 attack was released by the Polk County Sheriff's Office Tuesday. However, there probably will not be much reaction to the audio because the judge in the case has issued a gag order to all parties involved.
