ORANGE COUNTY -- With sky high gas prices, one Central Florida man is convinced his idea for an energy-efficient car is worth millions of dollars.
Larry Wexler, of Orange County, has been working on a solar-paneled car for 11 years.
He believes his hard work will finally pay off, if he wins a competition called the X PRIZE.
"It’ll give purpose to my life for the next 25 years. I was in another business that was not fulfilling," said Wexler.
Teams still have through mid-2008 to sign up for the X PRIZE competition.
The total prize money for the competition is $10 million.
Wexler is entered in a field that carries a $2.5 million first prize.
