DAYTONA BEACH -- The Volusia County Health Department is now confirming an 18-year-old at Daytona Beach Community College does have bacterial meningitis.
The female student has been hospitalized for several days, but doctors could not confirm the case until tests were done.
Health workers have already started treating 12 students who may have been exposed to the illness, but no one else is believed to be at risk.
