Pink Plane In Melbourne To Support Breast Cancer Research
Saturday, February 23, 2008 9:53:02 AM
MELBOURNE -- A big, bright pink Boeing 757 turned heads Friday when it landed at Melbourne International Airport.
Since 2005, the Delta Pink Plane has been flying across the country to create awareness for Delta Airlines' Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
The plane flew into Central Florida to support the Wuesthoff Health System Foundation's gala event Saturday night, at the Clement Center in Melbourne.
" It is to demonstrate our commitment, and raise awareness, and hopefully raise resources for breast cancer research awareness," said.
Last year, Delta raised more than $500,000 for breast cancer research.
