Hillsborough Sheriff Is Apologizing.

Video

Just one day after a videotape made national headlines, Hillsborough County's sheriff is apologizing.

The tape shows a deputy dump a quadriplegic man out of a wheelchair and then search him.

Brain Sterner said he told the deputy multiple times he could not stand on his own but that nobody listened.

Sheriff David Gee issued a personal apology to Sterner and went on to say, "I am personally embarrassed and shocked by the horrific treatment Mr. Sterner received. I cannot and will not even try to offer an explanation for what is seen on the video."

The deputy in question has been suspended without pay.
