Brothers Reunited At National Adoption Day Ceremony
Saturday, November 15, 2008 11:36:57 PM
DELTONA -- Saturday was National Adoption Day and many families across Central Florida are now a little larger.
One such family is the Marro family from Deltona in Volusia County. Matthew, 13, was adopted by the Marros in a ceremony Saturday morning. He’s now reunited with his biological brother Cody, 16, who was adopted earlier by the family.
Both boys know all too well the difficulty of finding a permanent home.
"It's difficult because you can't find many home that actually want the older kids because they're in their teenage years, kind of rebellious at times...not listening," said Cody.
According to the Department of Children and Families, there are more than two dozen kids up for adoption in Volusia and Flagler counties alone.
