DAYTONA BEACH -- Police are looking for a man who tried to abduct a 13-year-old girl Tuesday morning.

The teen, a student at Warner Christian Academy, said she was jogging with a group of cross country runners in the area of Wilder Boulevard and South Palmetto Avenue.

The girl said the man first tried to get her phone number, but she ignored him. She said the man then got out of his car.

"He walked to the south side where she was at and says ‘Come on. Get in the car’ and tried to grab her," said Sgt. Jimmie Flynt from the Daytona Beach Police Department.

The victim described the suspect as a man in his mid-20s, of average height, clean-shaven, and driving a dark-colored car with tinted windows.

If you have any information, call Crime Stoppers in Volusia County at (888) 277-TIPS or Daytona Beach police.
