MELBOURNE -- For many students Monday, it was back to class for the first time following a bomb blast Oct. 2 at Brevard Community College.
The explosion hit an elevator in the Melbourne campus' Building 7.
Police said Michael Woodson, 20, was responsible for the homemade device.
A family friend said Woodson was in a dirt bike accident a couple weeks ago and has since been on heavy pain medication.
He said Woodson has not been himself since the accident.
As for students, they said they're just glad police have charged someone.
"It was kind of relieving to know that the elevator's not going to blow up again," said Mary Gallegos, a BCC student.
The school said there is no extra security on campus this week, saying things will be “business as usual.”
