A pilot is in the hospital after his plane crashed in a soccer field Sunday.

KISSIMMEE -- A pilot is in the hospital after his plane crashed Sunday.

The single engine plane had just taken off from Kissimmee Gateway Airport when something went wrong.

Witnesses said they saw the plane hit the ground, bounce up, and slammed into a goal post at a nearby park before finally crashing in a soccer field.

Two men were credited with getting to the plane and pulling the pilot out to safety.

"Trying to bring the pilot out, I got fuel all over my right side,” said Carlos Figeuroa.  “Me and my friend were bringing the pilot out. No matter what, that's a life."

The pilot was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating.
