BREVARD COUNTY -- A brazen suspect is trying his luck stealing high-end lotto tickets from convenience stores, and some of his deeds are caught on surveillance tape.

A man in his 30's wearing a green ball cap walked into the Kwik Food Mart off U.S. 192 on Aug. 11. After the clerk walks out of the frame, the tape shows the man reach around the counter and grab the scratch-offs and hide them.

Lisa Baldwin just started a new job as a clerk that day. She said the man had asked if she could take his young daughter to the bathroom.

"When I turned to help her, the lotto tickets used to be up here. So I guess he took them then," said Baldwin.

“When he's doing it, you can see on the cameras he's actually jamming it in his pants or hiding them behind himself,” said Agent Greg Richter from the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office. “He's doing it within a few feet of the clerk."

Investigators said the suspect has hit five stores and gotten away with more than a $1,000 worth of tickets so far. However, they believe he may have hit other area stores without their knowledge.

Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeLine at (800) 423-TIPS.
