A Marion County man met with firefighters Tuesday for the first time since they saved his life.
Dennis and Melissa Black were awakened by their dog when their mobile home went up in flames in August.
Dennis and 11 dogs were trapped inside, while Melissa waited frantically for firefighters to arrive.
It took Marion County crews minutes to get to the home, but once inside, firefighters had a hard time getting around to find Black.
"You couldn't see anything. You could feel the heat. We got him out as fast as possible," said firefighter Sean Walker.
Dennis Black is alive and well, thanks to the firefighters. He and his wife thanked them Tuesday as they reunited for the first time since the fire.
The firefighters also received medals of honor from the county.
