The final vote on Melbourne's proposed "doggie dining" ordinance was slated for the coming week.

The ordinance would allow participating restaurants to let customers bring their dogs with them to eat in designated outdoor patio seating areas.

Melbourne's City Council passed the plan on their first reading in December.

The final vote was scheduled for Tuesday night.
