A major construction project was scheduled to get under way Monday morning at a busy Orange County intersection.
The work was to widen State Road 50 from four lanes to six, from S.R. 436, all the way to S.R. 417.
The $66 million project is expected to take about two and a half years.
The Florida Department of Transportation was working to get the project done early, offering the contractor a bonus of $8,500 each day it was done early.
Construction was not expected to close any lanes during the daytime, but the area could have some closures overnight during the project.
