An Orange County fifth grader was out of class Tuesday after taking a knife to school.
The 10-year-old faces charges of carrying a concealed weapon on school grounds.
Deputies said they were called to Little River Elementary school Monday after reports of a knife on campus. They said the boy had a 4 1/2 inch steak knife hidden in a stuffed monkey.
It was not revealed why the boy had the weapon on campus. News 13 is not identifying the student because of his age.
