Sunday marks exactly one year since Trenton Duckett was last seen, and despite few new leads, investigators haven't given up hope they will someday find the Leesburg toddler safe. Monday marks One year since he was reported missing.
Duckett, who would now be 3 years old, disappeared on Aug. 26, 2006. His mother, Melinda Duckett, reported him missing the following day.
She told investigators she was watching a movie with friends and when she went to check on him he was gone. Two weeks later she killed herself.
Since then, Melinda Duckett has been a prime suspect in her son's disappearance.
Meanwhile, the boy's father, Joshua Duckett, continues the search for his son. He has opened Team Trenton headquarters in Leesburg, hoping the right clue will lead him to his missing son.
A candlelight vigil and prayer marking the anniversary of Trenton's disappearance will be held Monday at the Leesburg Towne Square, at Fifth and Main Street. from 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.
