A moving crew began hauling items out of Titanic: The Experience museum on International Drive Monday.
The museum renters said their landlord told them last week they were being evicted. Less than a week later, they showed up with the sheriff's office and a moving crew.
"They want their buildings back but I have over $4 million worth of exhibitory in my property,” said G. Michael Harris. “Literally, the sheriff came today and gave them my property. Now I have my stuff in there and it doesn't belong to them, and they're taking it and putting it out in the street. It’s just a travesty of justice."
"The truth of the matter is he is on a month to month lease,” said Chuck Whittall, the CEO from Unicorp. “I haven't been paid rent in four months. I've spent $50,000 attorney's fees trying to protect my property rights. He's fought. Two courts have found me to be in the right."
Harris said he plans to re-open his museum somewhere else, hopefully in December. Whittall said he'll unveil his new project in a few weeks.
