Bacterial Meningitis Discovered in Brevard County
Tuesday, May 19, 2009 6:05:10 PM
The health department says they have two confirmed cases of bacterial meningitis in Brevard County.
Both cases are adult males. One is from Titusville, the other was discovered at Wuesthoff Hospital.
The health department says neither case is related and both men are expected to be okay.
So far there is no reason to worry that the cases may have spread, but the health department is checking for other cases.
The symptoms of bacterial meningitis include a stiff neck, nausea, headaches and vomiting. Seizures, and disorientation can also be symptoms.
Symptoms of bacterial meningitis usually show up immediately and can be fatal if not treated properly.
