America celebrates its birthday this week with the Fourth of July. But Uncle Sam was showing his pride Monday by handing out speeding tickets.
The Orange County Sheriff's Office used one of their deputies dressed up as the historical figure to help catch speeders.
News 13 caught him in action at Pelee Street and University Boulevard, west of State Road 417.
Deputies say it's working, as they averaged giving a ticket a minute.
"If it gets the word out that we want you to slow down,” said Cmdr. Ken Wynne. “They can call it cute, they can call it entrapment, they can call it whatever they want. We want you to slow down."
This isn't the first time the sheriff's office has pulled this off. Back in March, a deputy dressed up as a leprechaun and also as a Grinch in December.
