Bike To Work Day

The City Beautiful is recognized as a bike friendly city, and has been for the past six years.

It's not unusual to see bike riders all over Orlando.

To celebrate the city's seventh Bike to Work Day, Mayor Buddy Dyer led a group who pedaled their way from College Park to Downtown Orlando.

The city has added 70 new bike racks and opened miles of bike lanes and trails all in an effort to support those who ride regularly throughout the city.

“Well, we're certainly wanting to keep the city a bicycle friendly city and have the opportunity for people who want to use alternative transportation to do that whether for recreation or simply getting to work,” Mayor Dyer said.

This year Starbucks agreed to partner with the city and offer free coffee at all Orlando area Starbucks locations to anyone who rode their bike to work Friday morning.
