Our dry weather is leading to more alligator sightings in Central Florida and Tuesday, a dog became the latest victim.
Investigators in Daytona Beach say an alligator attacked a Yorkshire terrier at a lake in the Grand Champion subdivision.
Police say the dog's owner was taking pictures of a golf course, when the dog went to take a drink the lake and was pulled under.
The owner went into the lake to try to save the dog but it was too late.
Officials say our current drought is forcing gators out of their current locations, as they hunt for water.
Wildlife workers are now looking for the alligator, which is believed to be between 8 and 10 feet long.
