Wooden fences are the latest tool in the continued fight against erosion in Flagler Beach.
The city is installing wooden fences along the sand. It's been done in the panhandle following several hurricanes over the past few years.
After storms in 2005, parts of A1A in Flagler Beach actually washed away, since then, city and state crews have been working to restore the beach in that area.
The city has until May 1, and the experimental project will run through October. If it's successful, the city says it will pursue federal funding to expand the project next year.
