A man was critically injured after being involved in an unbelievable overnight crash in Orange County.
The crash happened at around four this morning on Semoran Boulevard near Aloma.
Deputies say a man was speeding when he tried to maneuver around traffic and lost control of his car. The car hit a power pole, jumped over a guard rail and landed on a Camaro sitting in the parking lot at the Knob Hill Apartment Complex. The car eventually came to a stop in an empty parking space, but not before causing a lot of damage.
"Major damage,” said Sgt. Sandra Bailey of the orange County Sheriff’s Office. “A lot of people lost their cars today because of this. There's at least three in the parking lot that are totaled. There are ten that have damage to them."
Bailey says if this had happened during the day people would have been walking around and someone would have been killed.
She believes the driver had been drinking before the crash. He was airlifted in critical condition to the hospital where he will be given a blood alcohol test. A passenger in the car was also hurt, but is expected to survive.
