Many Central Floridians are spending this weekend cleaning up and rebuilding after last week's deadly tornados. However, they are also getting help from hundreds of volunteers who are showing up to lend a hand.
State officials have teamed up with a state based group called Compassion Alliance. They are based out of Ocala and what they do is bring together various church organizations and volunteers to help areas affected by the tornados.
Many of these volunteers, both children and adults, are out in the Lake Mack area of Lake County to do what they can to help.
One volunteer we spoke with said he brought along his three kids along to show them what people should do after a disaster.
Church Volunteer Hayward Lindsey said, "By teaching them to help other people hopefully after we're gone they'll pass it on to their children."
Many volunteers say they were inspired to come here today because if something like this were to happen to them they would want others to help lend a hand.
Last Friday's tornado's are blamed for 20 deaths. Five of the victims were laid to rest yesterday. Five more services are being held today.
