More sheriff's deputies were expected to patrol Deltona over the next couple of days after a teenage girl said someone tried to kidnap her on her way to school.
Deputies said Rosa Bailey, 13, was walking to Deltona Middle School by herself Monday morning, and was near the intersection of Saxon Boulevard and Baton Drive.
Rosa told deputies that a man in a red Ford Mustang stopped and tried to force her into the car, but she managed to get away.
The girl said the same man tried to get her to come with him back in October.
"He wanted that I had to get in his car and go out of state with him," Rosa said. "When I started to to walk away, he grabbed my arm and tried to pull me and force me into his car, and that's when I fought back."
The man was described as a light-skinned, with medium-length black hair. He was clean-shaven, and had a tattoo of a clown face on his left forearm.
The car is a red Ford Mustang with a black interior and a florida tag mounted in the back window.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of the man was asked to call Crime Stoppers at (888) 277-TIPS.
