Many families opened lots of gifts on Christmas, but two Central Florida families hoped they start a new trend to give to others at Christmas.
The Gonzalez and Anderson Families of Windemere felt compelled to donate thousands of dollars worth of food, entertainment and close to 500 presents to kids and families battling life-threatening illnesses at Give Kids The World Village in Kissimmee.
"It is better to give than to receive. We could give back," said Maritza and Edward Gonzalez.
"I think this experience will inspire children, and give them renewed hope to battle their illnesses," said Pam Landwirth, president of Give Kids The World.
The massive donation was a first for the organization. No one had ever done anything like it before.
Both families said they had so much fun this year, and planned on a bigger bash next Christmas!
