Firefighters rescue family stuck inside an elevator in Downtown Orlando.

A dozen members of one family were glad to be freed after the elevator they were riding got stuck between floors at a Downtown Orlando condominium Saturday.

One of the people trapped inside called the fire department to get them out of the elevator.

The elevator was stuck on the ninth floor, and it took about 15 minutes to rescue the crowd.

"Everybody's fine," said David Huintz, one of the trapped family members. "We had a couple of little kids less than 5 years old, so it's a little unnerving."

When asked if he was scared, Huintz replied "I wasn't, no, but the kids were."

Firefighters said the elevator appeared to have malfunctioned.

The elevator was taken out of service until repairs could be made.
