Additional Information

Site plans have gotten under way for two large structures in Downtown Orlando, the name of which has gotten a lot of attention: World Trade Center Orlando.

The buildings would overlook Lake Ivanhoe. One building is 25 stories high; the other is 28 stories.

Some people said they have a problem with how the two structures stand side by side together. They believed the name "World Trade Center Orlando" was synonymous with the Sept. 11 attacks.

"They are synonymous. From a foreigner's point of view, when you hear of the World Trade Center, you immediately think of that attack,"

The Orlando City Council press secretary and the builder both said in no way was anyone suggesting these new buildings would reproduce the towers that were struck by planes in New York City.

The buildings were set to open in 2009. Click here to read more on the buildings.
