Walt Disney World reported a man has died after riding the Expedition Everest coaster at the Animal Kingdom park Tuesday.
Disney said the Jeffery Reed, 44, of Navarre, Florida, appeared to be unconscious and unresponsive when his ride vehicle pulled into the attraction's unload area.
Park personnel immediately rendered CPR to Reed, and contacted Reedy Creek Emergency Services and the Orange County Sheriff's Office.
Reed was transported by Reedy Creek Emergency Services to Celebration Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Investigators said Reed appeared to be conscious in a photograph taken on the coaster approximately 50 seconds before the conclusion of the ride.
Investigators said there was no trauma or injury to Reed, and that the ride appeared to be operating normally at the time of incident.
The attraction was inspected Tuesday morning and was operating properly. Disney has since closed the ride to reconfirm proper operation.
The Sheriff's Office planned to continue conducting a routine investigation to determine to cause of death.
Disney also notified the State Bureau of Fair Rides Inspection, and planned to advise the bureau of their findings.
Reed was reported to be visiting the park with family members.
Disney said they would provide assistance to the family, and offered their deepest sympathies.
