Thanksgiving, of course, means turkey, but instead of being prepared for the oven, two very special birds got a VIP welcome Tuesday night at Orlando International Airport.
Nearly 100 people crowded the terminal to get a glipse of turkeys May and Flower.
The turkeys flew here — by plane — from Washington, just hours after the traditional pardon from President Bush.
It would be a working vacation for the two turkeys. Thursday, they were scheduled to be the stars of the Thanksgiving parade at Walt Disney World, and it is not easy getting two wild animals ready for Main Street U.S.A.
"I would say that just about three or four times a week, there were family members on the farm, interacting with the turkeys, getting them used to all the people and the commotion. So they're used to it," said Ted Seger, chairman of the National Turkey Foundation.
The two big brids will also have a new home after the holiday. They will be living out the rest of their days at Disney's Animal Kingdom.
