Additional Information

The Army Corps Of Engineers said it will not look over the Warwick Subdivision for possible bombs because they don't think it was ever part of the Pinecastle Jeep Bombing Range.

The Corps has been searching for live munitions in the area of the old range -- which now includes Odyssey Middle School -- for several weeks.

They found and detonated live munitions earlier this month.

Just this week, Lennar Homes hired contractors to sweep over the nearby Warwick subdivision. But Corps members told News 13 they don't think that neighborhood actually sits on the old range.

"The Corps is not doing any work there because it's not part of the Pinecastle Jeep Range, we are only authorized to do work on the formerly used defense site," said Nancy Sticht, of the Army Corps of Engineers.

The Corps is looking for volunteers to sit on their Pinecastle Jeep Range Restoration Advisory Board. It consists of around 20 community members who help advise government agencies on the environmental restoration of the area.
