The program allows business owners to get a government rebate if they install solar energy panels to power their facilities. The panels normally cost over $250,000.

Some businesses can save 6,000 gallons of oil a year by switching to the new power, and it’s not just the business that benefits.

"What would happen is, the system, if it's making more power than the building is using, it will go back to your power system, the grid, and be redistributed to the neighborhood," William Garity, the president of The Energy Outlet said.

The owner of the business in Holly Hill says he will see a dip in his energy costs immediately.
