PASCO COUNTY (Bay News 9) -- At one time, construction crews were at work at the intersection of Ridge and Decubellis roads in New Port Richey, but now they are gone.
The work was moving along until the construction company handling the job filed for bankruptcy.
The project was supposed to be finished by the end of October. That deadline has passed, yet drivers are still dealing with barricades and uneven pavement.
Pasco County officials are now looking for ways to get the project going again by seeking out other firms to take over the work. But nothing can happen until the deal leaves the court system, a move the county doesn't expect to see happen until the end of November.
However, county development officials say that once management of the project changes hands, it should only take about six weeks to finish.
