COCOA BEACH -- A two-year-old girl is in critical condition, after she was struck by a truck near a public beach dune crossover Sunday morning.

It happened around 11 a.m. at the end of Palm Lane.

The girl was first taken to Cape Canaveral Hospital, but was later airlifted to Arnold Palmer Hospital in Orlando.

Police say the girl and her family are visiting the Space Coast from Tennessee, but did not release their names.

They do say the driver of the pickup was Brian Cook. He hasn't been charged, but the accident remains under investigation.

If anyone witnessed or has any information about the crash, contact Det. Tom Cooper at the Cocoa Beach Police Department at 868-3262.
