PORT ORANGE -- An 8-year-old child in a summer program at Silver Sands Middle School may be the latest case of swine flu reported in Central Florida.

City officials say they have been notified that the child has a potential case of the H1N1 or swine flu virus.

The Volusia County Board of Education and city officials said they are taking precautions to disinfect the school as well as providing many opportunities to wash hands and use hand sanitizer.

The latest report comes while school officials around Central Florida are planning for the return of students and an increase in the number of reported H1N1 cases.

Emergency workers are already in training to fight off what they say is a very possible outbreak of the swine flu in schools.
