One woman wanting to drop some pounds came up with an interesting new concept
to stay motivated.
For entrepreneur Heidi Roizen, hitting age 50 was a real wake-up call.
"All of these years of being in the fast lane, working hard not taking care of
myself had taken its toll," said Heidi Roizen, creator of Skinny Songs.
As she had before, Roizen started a company.
"I wanted chick empowerment music -- some upbeat stuff that was like 'you go
girl, you're gonna get in your jeans, you're gonna get in leopard print again
someday." but i couldn't find anything like that," Roizen said.
With the help of music producers George Daly and David Malloy, Heidi
created "Skinny Songs."
And the songs have caught on.
"As somebody said to me - 'you could sing songs about lowering your cholesterol
and that wouldn't be very motivating, but singing songs about fitting into your
skinny jeans, now that's motivating.' "
Roizen is practicing what her songs preach - she's lost more than 40 pounds.
