Valerie Greene had it all. Great life. Great job. Great family. But at age 31, her life changed when she suffered a massive stroke.
"It was the most terrifying day of my life," said Greene.
The whole left side of Valerie's body was paralyzed. She couldn't hear in her right ear and doctors expected her to die.
Yet, Valerie never gave up.
"I took my faith and trust that there was a purpose and a plan," said Greene.
And indeed there was. Inside Valerie's home are walls now filled with her accomplishments. After years of hard work and therapy she’s experiencing the comeback.
She is using her experience to help others and inspire them to know nothing is impossible.
She is now a national spokesperson for the stroke association, a two-time author and a motivational speaker.
She has even conquered walking a half-marathon at Disney.
So what's next for this inspiring woman?
Valerie said she wants to form a foundation to help other stroke survivors and ultimately she'd like to build a center to help survivors recover.
Valerie's latest book, "Conquering Stroke," is now out in bookstores.
If you've been inspired by Valerie’s story, she'll be at a book signing Saturday, July 19, at the Borders in Winter Park at 2 p.m.
