We have been sharing with you an incredible story of a young woman's battle against breast cancer, as News 13 takes a look at the power of prayer and healing.
Click here to read Part 1 of Pam Oldham's story.
Diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic breast cancer, Pam faced two options.
"As I sat there getting my chemo treatments, I realized you could either have hope, or you have none," Pam said.
Pam chose hope, and turned to her church family for prayer and support.
"I won't say I knew I was going to be healed, but I certainly had a piece of what was going on," Pam admitted.
Pam's pastor conducted healing services, and all her friends and family prayed, but it was not easy.
Pam started chemo immediately after the diagnosis, but she said when they did the surgery, her cancer showed signs of life. Her faith was tested again.
"I have to pray, and have hope," Pam said.
Pam did have hope. After surgery, she went back for more chemo, and suddenly, her prayers were answered.
"After that, it was gone," Pam said. "I am a mother, a wife — why he let me chose to see this day, that I can do for him, because he's done this for me."
So can the power of prayer and faith help you heal? Medically, we wanted to know if this is possible.
We will have more as we explore this issue.
