Lisa Bell, Know Your Numbers

Spring and summer are usually a great time for your kids to play outside, but the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says 200,000 children get hurt every year on playgrounds.

That doesn't mean your kids shouldn't be playing outside, but there are some things parents need to keep in mind.

For example, more injuries happen on climbers at public playgrounds. On home playgrounds, swings are most dangerous.

Children between the ages of 5 and 9 are at the highest risk for getting hurt on either, so keep a close eye on your little ones.
