Lisa Bell, Know Your Numbers

Are you tempted by all the sweets around the holidays, but still need to stick to your diet?

You can, as long as you follow the 10 percent rule.

No matter how much weight you have to lose, experts say it's still OK to indulge your sweet tooth.  Restricting certain foods from your diet might cause you to crave them and ultimately eat more than you should.

So, if looking forward to a treat before bedtime is what helps you stick to your weight loss goals, then go for it.

Your rule of thumb?  Keep your sweet treats low in fat and make sure they account for no more than 10 percent of your total daily caloric intake for your weight loss plan.
