Tiffany Greene, Your Kids
Every month, News 13 brings you a member of the month from one of the local Boys and Girls Clubs. This month, News 13's Tiffany Greene introduces us to one young lady who has a heart for helping people.
"I look forward to seeing her smiling face, because she does come in everyday with a smiling face," said Lynda Phanord, a staff member of the Boys & Girls Club.
Amanda Baptiste, 17, is usually beaming with joy when she is playing with the kids or just hanging out at the Boys & Girls Club.
"I feel like since the Boys & Girls Club has helped me so well, I think it's my part, I should say, to give back to others that have given to me," Baptiste said.
It's that spirit of giving back that makes this junior staffer a great example for her peers.
"When we have our community service events and there's a need for people to help behind the scenes, she doesn't necessarily have to be in the forefront, she's willing to do the work, even if it's just her," Phanord said.
"As a Keystone member, we're putting together a lot of activities to help out with the community, whether it's family or environmental," Baptiste said.
Baptiste wants to let her heart for community service continue to beat. The Olympia High junior one day wants to become a nurse -- a fitting occupation for a young lady who loves to help others.
