The newest, hottest color trends of 2008 are out. According to those in the paint industry, these trends are a result of your confidence.
A paint and color expert says color directions are becoming about self-expression, glamorous living, or an increasing awareness of important environmental causes.
That's where we begin the first of three top color palette choices for the home in 2008.
Debbie Zimmer of Rohm and Haas Paint Quality Institute expects green to become the newest "neutral" color.
Zimmer says sage green, and other mid-tone hues of fern, palm, and pine, represent the growing environmental movement.
When mixed with tan and adobe red, they work best in bathrooms, kitchens and family living spaces.
Next, for those wanting a glamorous living space, black and white paint hues are getting more and more popular.
For an unexpected color punch, Zimmer suggests throwing in a dramatic red.
A subtle pink will maintain the room's classic undertones.
This color palette is most common in master bedroom suites and living rooms.
Color experts say a palette of crewel colors, such as rich cranberry reds, warm brown, and pumpkin orange, reflects a returning interest in crafts, home cooking and family-focused activities.
You'll get a nurturing environment out of these colors, which you might try in the kitchen or dining area.
