New Year's has come and gone and, for a lot of us, so has our determination for keeping all those New Year's resolutions! De-cluttering our homes and our lives usually tops the list, but according to Organization Expert, Kerul Kassel mission organization doesn't have to take a lot of time or effort.

Your house is a mess. You need order in your life. So, who you gonna call? A De-Clutter Buster!

Or as Kerul Kassel calls herself, an organization and life coach.

"My focus is helping people being focused enough, not beyond practicality," Kassel said.

Nancy Snyder admits she doesn't know the first step to getting organized.

"Sometimes I come in and I think – I should do that, or I should clean that, but I don't," she said.

That’s where Kassel comes into the picture.

"It only takes 10 minutes a day to stay organized,” Kassel said. “People think it takes so much more, but it's so simple."

Since everyone has their own so-called threshold for organizing, the first step for Karrel is asking the person in need of decluttering is five questions."

The questions:
When did you last use this?
How likely is that you'll find it?
What is it costing you in both your physical space and productivity?
On the maybe 5 percent chance you might use it in the future, what shape will it be in?
Is it going to become obsolete?"

According to Kassel, Snyder is a classic case. She's fairly organized, but there's still room for improvement.

She goes through the house room by room with Nancy, giving little tips that will make a big impact.

"There is a bunch of stuff piled on the shelves that makes it feel less organized,” Kassel said. ”What would make it a lot more organized, and if we took five minutes and just folded things neatly."

And voila! A much neater and nicer looking closet! And what about those piles of papers or bills that never seem to disappear?

Kassel’s solution is a box or dinner basket.

Kassel says while she practices what she preaches; she understands some people need clutter. That’s why in her mostly immaculate house there's one room reserved for messiness – her husband's study. It's dusty; it's disorganized, so how can she stand it?!

"I can live with this room because I can just shut this door," Kassel said.

According to this organizing guru, it's all about deciding what you can live with and what you can't.
