Floyd Misek, Floyd the Food Guy
When most people think of eating watermelon it is usually by the slice.
In today's Floyd the Food Guy, Floyd has found two other ways to enjoy this fruit of the garden.
Start by scooping the red flesh of watermelon into a colander over a bowl. Then using a heavy wooden spoon or a metal spoon press the flesh against the sides of the colander to squeeze all of the juices out, pour it into a glass, garnish it with mint sprig and it is a very refreshing cocktail.
You could add this watermelon juice to a fruit punch boom more flavor or just jazz it up with 7-up or ginger ale, it is very refreshing.
For a refreshing approach to a salad start with a base of mixed greens. To that, add some chopped yellow tomato. Next, cut some seedless watermelon into edible-size portions and then add it to the salad mix.
The dressing is just very basic. It is three parts oil to one part balsamic vinegar. Whip it up real well and pour it over the greens and toss it all together. This is an amazing combination of flavors and textures.
