Iced Coffee, With A Twist

Floyd Misek, the Food Guy

This recipe is for iced coffee, with a twist. The next time you make a pot of coffee at home, if you have some left over, do not throw it down the drain. Pour it into an ice cube tray.

Also consider sweetening the coffee. Jazz it up with some cream, and then make regular ice cubes out of that coffee.

The next day, just pop those coffee ice cubes out of the tray. You can use a freezer container, or if you are using a plastic bag, zip it up tightly, and keep it in the freezer.

On a hot day, when the urge for iced coffee hits, you have some options. Make coffee like you normally would, and then sweeten it, and add whatever flavoring you would like, as you normally do.

Pour it into a glass over those coffee ice cubes, or you can cheat -- like I do sometimes -- and buy the ready-mixed coffee right in the store. Pour that over your flavored ice cubes.

If you are looking for really special flavors, this qualifies as dessert. Make your iced coffee, top it off with a small scoop of coffee ice cream, a mint sprig, and even a chocolate stick on the top, and there you have and excellent end to a meal in the hot summertime.

That's iced coffee, my style, and now it is your style.
