ORLANDO -- Theater goers have until Sunday to catch one of dozens of upcoming shows at the 18th annual Orlando International Fringe Theatre Festival.
The event brings together all sorts of theater shows.
Fringe festivals started back in 1947 when groups not invited to perform at the Edinburgh Festival of the Arts in Scotland staged their own "fringe" performances.
Organizers said events like these are important to the Orlando area.
“I’d say the biggest difference this year is that our outdoor stage is gonna have more acts from all over than ever before. I think they're incredibly important because we are, as we have been voted for several years, the most cultural event in Orlando," said Beth Marshall, the producing artistic director.
The festival takes place in Loch Haven Park and runs through May 25.
All money made from tickets goes directly to the artists.
