GAINESVILLE -- A group at the University of Florida appears to have an emergency plan in place in case of a zombie attack.
Listed on the university’s e-Learning Support Services course management Web site, among documented exercises to recover from a hurricane, pandemic and other disasters, was a detailed report on a “Disaster Preparedness Simulation Exercise” for how to respond to an outbreak of the undead.

The disaster recovery exercises were later removed from the university Web site “at the instruction of UF Administration.”
It was not immediately clear if the report was a very creative student project, just a simple joke, or something else.
The report, listed as being completed in June, included details on an in-depth study and discussion on how emergency responders would, hypothetically, handle an outbreak of zombies.
The author or authors of the report discussed the science of “zombie behavior spectrum disorder,” or ZBSD, and even encouraged university administrators to create a “UF Zombie Response Team.”
“Such a team does not yet exist at the University of Florida; but we are confident UF administration will soon see the importance of such a group, probably situated within the University Police Department,” the report said.
The six-page report cited among its sources movies such as “Night of the Living Dead” and its sequels, “Dead Snow,” “Shaun of the Dead” and a list of zombie films on Wikipedia.
