John Handiboe, Hey John
The cast of Disney’s “High School Musical” is back on the set in Salt Lake City, Utah, along with three new freshman faces.
So, will “High School Musical 3 Senior Year” be all about the prom and graduation? The stars are hinting at the movies storyline. But is there trouble on the set? The Wildcats may be getting catty.
Jemma McKenzie-Brown is pumped to play Tiara.
"It's too exciting," McKenzie-Brown said.
Matt Prokop seems to be the new smooth talker at East High as Jimmy.
"I think if we stand here long enough, we will become the stars of the show," Prokop said.
Meanwhile, Justin Martin is jumping into the role of Donnie.
"I was, like, yes," Martin said.
It appears everyone is playing nicely and that they're all in this together.
"I think they have really come up and stepped-up and they're ready to work and we've accepted them as much as we have accepted each other," said Corbin Bleu, who plays Chad.
New cast members, the last dance for others and the first time on the big screen -- that is some pressure.
"This isn't about any sort of pressure or any kind of demand. This is about art and inspiration and about being excited to be apart of something that is so wonderful. I know that personally i am not going in there to do it better, but to give it justice," said Monique Coleman, who portrays Taylor.
You can expect the obvious from the movie -- new songs, new moves -- but other than that the cast is keeping some high school secrets.
"Our characters are growing and we're growing as people and we're making tougher decisions, as Zach said, and you definitely see relationships blossom, but I'm not giving it away," said Vanessa Anne Hudgens, who plays Gabriella.
"This is the final year at East High for the Wildcats. So, we are kind of deciding for ourselves what to do with our futures. Whether it be college -- I know for my character, basketball is a huge priority and there's also his new love of theater, so yeah," said Zach Efron, the resident hunk Troy.
But there are also some interesting decisions being made on set. E-Online reports that Ashley Tisdale, who plays Sharpay, had a police escort on the first day of shooting. The officer only left her side when the cameras started rolling.
Tisdale also reportedly, was unsociable and would only talk to Hudgens. It was quite a change from her attitude the day before during a news conference.
"We all do have the most amazing times of our lives doing this movie because we all love each other," Tisdale said.
So far, there has been no word on why Tisdale had a police escort or any other issues on the set in Salt Lake City.
By the way, Utah gave $2 million to ensure High School Musical 3 would be shot in the same location as the first two. It is set to open in theaters Oct. 24.
