Hey John, What’s Going On?
There was some cheering Friday morning from the first guests through the gates of Aquatica. It was the grand opening of SeaWorld's new attraction and water park along International Drive in Orange County.
Of course when you go to a water park you pack the swimsuit, the towels and most importantly, don't forget the sunblock.
There is 3.3 million gallons of water through the park, and Aquatica is saturated with 36 waterslides.
“Getting squirted by the water, that is the fun part,” said Tyler Humphries from Orlando.
The other big draw is the dolphin plunge. The slide sends you through blue tubes, twists and turns. At the end, you glide through a clear tube under the lagoon right by the park's perkiest performers: the Commerson's dolphins.
“We've been to three or four water parks in the Midwest. This is unbelievable. It tops them all,” said Lance Miller, a visitor from Michigan.
If you want to stay dry, you can lounge in 80,000 square feet of sand or you can relax in the water.
After swimming with the dolphins and hitting all 36 waters slides, why not rest and relax on the lazy river?
This is just the beginning of the growing season for SeaWorld. Next month they plan to officially announce a new roller coaster with animal interaction. Busch Gardens Tampa opened its African Zip Line attraction, Jungala, also on Friday.
