Teachers Of The Year Honored

Two Central Florida teachers are being called some of the brightest in the state.

They are two of the five finalists for the Macy's Florida Department of Education Teacher of the Year Award, and they are our Central Floridians of the Week.

Jennifer Bohn and Jeanne Wright are getting high marks from their peers and the Macy's Department store.

Bohn is a teacher at Evan's High School in Orange County. Wright teaches at Cypress Creek Elementary School in Port Orange.

They both received a $5,000 check and a $500 gift card to Macy's.

For being selected, each school also got a check for $1,000 from Macy's

The two teachers will now go on to compete for the Florida Teacher of the Year Award.
 
The winner will receive an additional $10,000 and serve as the state's Christa McAuliffe Ambassador for Education.

The big prize will be announced during a ceremony on July 10 at Hard Rock Live in Orlando.
